Compassion is a biological necessity. It’s separate from sympathy or empathy, and as Bowlby puts it, “our brains are biologically designed to respond to the care and kindness of others”.

Things to consider
  1. How comfortable are you with giving or receiving compassion – ie friendly care, patience, and a sense of connectedness?
  2. What’s asking to be held, rather than healed?
  3. What could a greater sense of compassion unlock for you?
